ABOUT

Hi. I am Vic Adams, a children's book author and illustrator based in Middlesbrough, UK.

As a primary teacher and mum, I have built up an encyclopedic knowledge of picture books, which has all fed into my own work. I'm Empathy Lab trained (and obsessed!) and my work primarily focuses on themes of family diversity and emotional literacy. I want to help children see all sorts of different lives reflected in children's picture books, including lives from the North East!

My work is a joyful collision of goache paint, collage and a lot of texture! I love building little worlds with my trusty scissors, but I'm happy to combine it with digital trickery where needed.
